Hey there,
I am done with 1.4.0 woohoo!
First of all, I am sorry that probably your savegame broke, since I changed a bunch of backend variables for optimization.
I try to keep those changes to a minimum and if the game ever goes further than itch.io, I will probably add a savegame converter if this happens again.
Those need a lot of work sadly, so there could be some more breaking updates later :P
I'll try my best!
The AI Manager and the corresponding team AI behavior were a pain in the *** but I think they work great so far and are a good starting point.
I might need to check the performance with the profiler for the next update but I think the wait was long enough for this version already :)
Per default the AI will always be on but can be toggled off per individual team during the mission.
Since having multiple teams makes the game a bit harder to manage, I think this AI addition helps especially in the later stages of the game.
It at least changes the gameplay drastically which I enjoyed a lot more than with having to manage multiple teams manually.
As for what I did, here is my completed checklist as usual:
Now the next version, I will focus on prettification again and maybe some balance tweaks.
For now I am very happy that this update is now finished since I had some motivational issues since the last update.
The game is still not played a lot and the web version is the most used, although I still highly recommend the standalone versions.
I had to drop the prettifying of the selected team info because I was running late and this would have taken a lot more time.
The UI is still a thorn in my eye.
I want it to look pretty, but I will need to stick to a theme and add some graphics soon, which is something I put off for a long time due to my undecisiveness XD

I am still updating the game and will constantly improve it according to my own ideas or feelings.
