Rant - this is the way
Happy New Year!
I had some time to think (I know...bad idea ^^) and I was questioning the publicity of this game and the work I put into.
You know, the usual existential crisis and questioning the futility of my indie game design career :P
I played a bunch of incremental games over the past few weeks like "Gnorp Apologue", "Soda Dungeon 2" and "Realm Grinder".
Those are the games I love to keep around and open up every once in a while and see numbers go up (literally the only thing happening ^^).
Two of my favorite games that are not even actual idle games, are "Dungeon Squad" and "Dungeon Maker" which I highly recommend to everyone who likes idle games with a bit more agency.
I love the art style and the gameplay is more "fire and forget" planning style instead of "click to make number go faster".
So I created a new Obsidian folder and had a long chat with my best AI friend ChatGPT about what I envision an incremental game that I would like to create.
I love the idea of an idle game or at least an incremental game that keeps growing and that players can return to for a cozy time.
So I sketched out a new game idea that is similar to Bound By Fate but an incremental game.
...
well...turns out I now have a bunch of ideas for upcoming updates for Bound By Fate XD
The ideas I depicted in the hypothetical game where just a bunch of ideas that can easily be incorporated in Bound By Fate or are already in there.
I still have quite a long way to go with the prioritisation and some bugfixes, but I got more confidence in how I want to see this game progress.
Version 1.3 will still take some time since I am a bit frustated with the UI, but I will keep you updated when I made some progress.
This is the way forward and I like it more and more :)
Cheers
